Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto has been fulfilling its mission since 1981 to provide a "home away from home" for seriously ill children and their families to heal better together. RMHC Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and Family Rooms in four hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and one in Sudbury, Ontario. By offering a place for sleeping, working, cooking and playing as well as a range of programs to support the physical, emotional and learning needs of children, RMHC helps to carry the burden for families undergoing one of the most difficult times in their lives. The organization helps bring normaicy during often chaotic times. RMHC Toronto is an independent charity, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operated by staff and volunteers.The first and largest House in Canada, it is part of a network of 344 licensed Ronald McDonald Houses around the World.
