In January 2016 the CDC was awarded one of ten Autism Speaks Canada grant to explore the development of a rural ASD service delivery model. In addition, a Emergency GP with a child and youth mental health and additions specialty who conducts his office visits at the CDC was joined by a, Child Psychiatrist in January 2016 and the Ministry for Children and Family Development's Mental Health Team now conducts a drop in clinic once a week at the CDC.
