Second stage shelter provides a safe, secure residence plus support services to help heal from the trauma of family violence in a long term setting. Clients receive residential and follow up programs plus services for individual and group counseling for both adults and children. Child and youth services include assessment of development, counseling, art and play therapy, and homework clubs. In home support includes life skills education, hygiene, safety planning, nutrition, budgeting, education upgrading, ESL and employment counseling. The Community Housing Program serves homeless women and children fleeing violence and provides them an opportunity for permanent and stable housing using the "Housing First" model of service delivery. This program helps women locate and maintain housing in the community and offers case management support services to help women live safely, independently, and free from violence in the community.
