In 2016, the British Columbia Borstal Association developed a program titled BC Trauma Care which provides low barrier and low cost access to trauma specific therapy. The program works to prevent and intervene in high risk situations that may result in traumatic impact, understanding that trauma is highly correlative with other mental health and physical complications, addiction, and even criminal behaviour. This program works with any individual in our community, without restriction. We currently run programs in our head office, in various community residential facilities, and with the Surrey School District.
