Amnesty's programs tend to be ongoing rather than new. In recent years, the organization has focused on the rights of indigenous peoples, corporate accountability with respect to human rights, and the need for human rights to be considered when security issues are addressed. We also focus on freeing prisoners of conscience, protecting refugees, abolishing the death penalty, ending political killings, disappearances, torture, and other grave human rights abuses, as well as defending women's human rights.
