Promotion of the study of genealogy and genealogical research within the Province of Alberta with 10 branches across the Province. Assemble and maintain branch-based libraries of guides, reference material and histories for use in genealogical study. Sponsor seminars, workshops and conferences on genealogical research and methodology. Hold monthly meetings of the various branches as well as Special Interest Groups that are open to members and non-members. Provide genealogy workshops that are open to members and non-members. Publish information to aid in research and provide newsletters to members. Hold local GenFairs or Provincial conferences on a regular basis which are open to members and non-members. Host websites that offer databases ofobituaries, cemetery grave markers and Alberta land/homestead records. Provide research assistance for individuals/organizations in the areas of genealogy. Provision of resources for youth in the areas of research of genealogy.
