For 41 years Victoria Women's Transition House Society has provided safe shelter, counseling, education and support for women of all ages, with or without children, to live free from violence and abuse in intimate relationships. We strive to prevent and eliminate violence and abuse through education, advocacy and partnerships. Our collaborative efforts together create hopeful futures. Our Programs: *24 hour staffed facility providing shelter for abused women with or without children, including counseling and support programs *24 hour crisis and information line providing crisis counseling and referrals *Stopping the violence group and individual counseling for women *Children Who Witness Abuse counseling and summer camp *Community education to schools, colleges, professional groups and other on effects of abuse, family violence and prevention *Group and individual counseling for older women; safe home unit for older women leaving abusive relationships *Harrison Place, transitional housing complex for women 45-65 providing on site support and programming *Spousal Assault Victim Support Program assisting women through the justice system *Regional Domestic Violence Unit working In partnership with local Police and the Ministry of Children and Family Development supporting high risk victims affected by domestic violence
