Our library provides free access to books, internet and other resources for residents and visitors. The library also provides free programming to the community for children and adults. Children's programs include: Wednesday Club and Lego club, which run alternately on Wednesdays for school aged children from 3-4pm; Lapsit, for children ages 0-2, runs on Thursdays from 11-11:30 am; Storeytime, for pre-school aged children, runs twice daily on Fridays, one session from 9:30-10:30 for the preschool and 10:30-11:30 for the general public. The BC Summer Reading Club is offered for 7 weeks throughout the summer and is comprised of daily 1 hour sessions for children of all ages, Monday through Friday. The Library also offers free outreach services to seniors and shut-ins, as well as free basic computer training and support. The Library offera free Job Search Support services, which include a free resume writing service, job search service and a My Service Canada patron upport service after the coal mine was "idled". This service continued and expanded after 2 more mines also "idled". The Library also offered two free teen stand-alone programs, which included a movie nigh and Murder Mystery night. The Library also offered a free Blind Date with a Book service in February to promote adult and child literacy.
